How to get rid of a greenie

The bacterial infection of the nail is often referred to as a 'greenie'. This is when a yellowy-greenish tinge appears on the nail plate, and is usually caused by moisture that has managed to seep between the nail plate and the gel enhancement.

How to treat:

  • Soak off the gel enhancement in 100% acetone
  • File the surface of the nail (discard the file afterward)
  • Apply 1 coat of PH Bond and 2 coats of Primer sparingly

This method kills the bacteria. Keep nails free of gel enhancements until the discolouring disappears. If the discolouration persists please go see your local GP.
